The shooting of Endhiran film commenced last September 2008. The shooting had taken place in South Africa, Goa, Delhi, Karnataka, Hyderabad and Chennai. Rajni has donned two roles. One is Robot and the other one is scientist is being directed by Shankar. The budget of this film has crossed Rs 100 Crores.
Sequences where Rajni creates the Robot and introducing the Robot to the international scientists were shot in an engineering college in Chennai. The first half of the film is comedy and the second half of the film is filled with action.
Since this film is being made on par with the international standards, the Oscar winner sound engineer Rasal Pookutty is taking care of the sound mixing. 85 % of the shooting is over. The shooting of the talkie portion is over.Only two songs is remaining to be shot. One song is to be shot in Poona and the other one is to be shot in a foreign location Dubbing and computer graphic works have begun. Rajni will dub for 20 days. He has already dubbed for three days. It is not yet known that who will dub for Aishwarya Rai. Kanika had dubbed for Shreya in Shivaji. This film will be released on the 14th of April 2010.
